The job duties would include (but aren't limited to):
- managing client PR campaigns, mainly within the entertainment, fashion, book or mobile technology industries
- developing strategic story angles and pitch timelines that would garner the most media attention to the clients
- crafting compelling and well-written press releases, media alerts, and pitches to distribute to appropriate media lists
- day to day pitching regional, national and international press
- persistent followups via email and phone to editors, producers, bloggers, etc.
- utilizing your existing personal media contacts to leverage coverage for clients
- attend client events as needed (in NYC area) to represent EMPKT PR and provide support to our clients
- represent EMPKT PR at networking events, college fairs, festivals, conferences and/or speaking engagements when needed
- seek out and bring in new clients on a consistent basis (typically 1-2 per month)
In addition, the ideal candidate would possess...
- 3-4 years of prior PR and/or sales experience, preferably in music, entertainment, books, fashion or mobile technology
- strong sales or customer relations background; ability to ''close'' deals and manage high-maintenance clients when needed
- top-notch writing and verbal communication skills
- presents himself/herself in a very professional manner; dresses and grooms well
- excellent team player and works well in tandem with President in generating new ideas or strategies (doesn't just rely on what your manager tells you to do)
- has proven success in a corporate or professional sales environment
- excellent people skills and emotional intelligence
- excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and plan ahead
- honesty, integrity, dependability, and loyalty
- good health (no consistent or prolonged periods of absence due to illness)
