Traditional Media Buyer
EMPIRE is an independent label, born and bred out of the Bay Area (San Francisco, California). We have grown to become the largest independent record label in the U.S., with a significant global presence covering Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia and North and South America. We keep ourselves busy with a myriad of music-related services, ranging from the creation of original content and goods (e.g., sound recordings, music publishing, merchandise, and virtual goods) as well as the marketing, promotion, distribution, and creation of brand partnerships around the same.
We are seeking an experienced, and creative media buyer for all outdoor activities to join our team in San Francisco. This is an exciting opportunity to flex your creative muscles, work with top tier artists, and see the impact of your work in a big way.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of traditional media buying experience and has worked with budgets ranging from small to large. You are able to think on your feet, budget out buys, thrive under pressure, and work collaboratively with internal departments to launch campaigns. The role requires researching neighborhoods, internal and external communication, and thinking outside of the box, as well as taking direction.
Job responsibilities include:
Manage all outdoor media activity; billboards, guerilla marketing, transit, taxi tops, etc
Working with internal teams to gather information for an RFP
Creating campaign plans, based on predetermined budgets or in some cases, propose budget spend
Liaison with our agencies of record and presenting options to internal Product Managers and/or external clients
Process invoices in a timely manner with internal finance team
Create strategic and integrated campaigns that speak to an artists' brand both domestically, and internationally
Work with agency or outside vendor to collect photos/videos of the media for social media use
Work with internal design team to get deliverables designed, approved, and turned in on schedule
Work with digital media buying tea to amplify overall campaign reach
Skills required:
2+ years of media buying experience, especially in the entertainment field
Highly organized
Thrives under pressure
Entrepreneurial spirit, and self-starter with a can-do attitude
Excellent communication skills; written and in person
Wealth of knowledge on different media types
Can synthesize complex situations into layman's terms for clients and internal teams
Ability to think of creative campaigns to break through the noise
Experience working with agencies or direct with vendors
Collaborative, team player
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google Sheets/Docs
Photoshop & Illustrator experience preferred
Knowledge of setting up print files, templates, and sometimes conversions
