Purpose of Role
Manage business plan for designated high volume digital accounts, including Commercial development, execution of account marketing campaigns and sales goals for all EMI digital products. The Account Director will create excellent relationships with labels and accounts, will hit or exceed revenue objectives, and will create incremental revenue opportunities.
Key deliverables:
Deliverable Related tasks
Digital Development and Support
• Primary liaison between EMI and account base
• Maximize impact and revenue opportunities at high-profile digital accounts including but not limited to Google and YouTube
• Develop a clear understanding of the accounts' brand(s), product offerings and consumers; and create a strategy that drives revenue and maximizes exposure for EMI's artists
• Monitor activities within your account base; be aware of market issues and competitive activity
• Interface with international teams to coordinate efforts at accounts on a global level
• Work closely with digital marketing teams to coordinate all social messaging efforts
• Track and measure results, and communicate learning to wider EMI team
• Manage quarterly reviews; request and utilize campaign analysis to optimize program results and drive new program development
• Work with cross-functional group managers as needed to ensure inter-departmental teamwork and operational efficiency
Special Projects
• Complete ad hoc projects and select administrative duties
• Complete and distribute a weekly digital report
• Prepare presentations in coordination with SVP and sales team, varying from large account presentations to routine upcoming release slides
• Gather and distribute consumer, sales, and marketplace research
• Coordinate digital presentations, meetings, and/or conventions
• Maintain digital partner contact information in a central database
• Facilitate upstreaming of information on all sales and marketplace activities internally and externally as requested
Balanced Relationships
• Communicate effectively and efficiently within the department, within EMI, and to EMI business partners and customers
• Continually identify opportunities to better partner with accounts, sales management, and other internal functions as it relates to providing critical information
• Demonstrate use of policies and practices, balancing customer needs with EMI priorities
• Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with other functional areas of EMI
Teamwork and Internal Standards
• Ensure departmental resources are aligned to achieve quality, efficiency, and timeliness of results in alignment with vision and goals of EMI
• Facilitate communication between home office, accounts, and field sales teams
• Ensure that tools and reports are effective, provided on a timely basis, and subject to rigorous standards
• Respond to changes within and affecting the department; proactively alter priorities when feasible
• Employ best practices in support of sales policies and procedures
• Support adherence to internal standards throughout the regional sales organization
• Maintain commitment to continuous process improvement: efficiency, effectiveness, and currency
Other Specific Requirements:
Essential
• At least 4-6 years experience in a corporate digital sales and/or marketing position with at least 2 years recent experience as an Account Lead or Digital Marketing Manager
• Able to interact with people at all levels demonstrating tact, diplomacy, discretion and maturity
• Creative thinking and ability to use own judgment an initiative in problem-solving
• Possess excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure while keeping an eye for detail
• Demonstrated experience functioning efficiently in an environment with multiple and shifting priorities and deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision, confidently handling new tasks as they arise
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including adaptability, personal effectiveness, and the ability to establish quick rapport
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including prioritization and follow through
• Familiarity with and/or interest in new technology
• Light travel required (less than 20%)
Desirable
• Knowledge of and/or experience in the entertainment industry, especially the music business
• An aptitude for or experience with reporting systems such as Soundscan, Encore/BDS, Insight and specific digital account dashboards
