We are seeking a highly motivated and detailed oriented Junior Publicist to work directly for one of the partners in the music department. The position will initially be work-from-home, but the candidate must be able to be in Los Angeles to cover clients and events. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, maintain the highest level of confidentiality, have the ability to keep up with an extremely busy, fast-paced office, and remain composed in high-pressure environments with strong-willed personalities. Must be able to multi-task under breaking deadlines. This is a challenging position which has the potential to lead to a rewarding career as an entertainment publicist.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
-Supporting clients day-to-day
-Covering red carpet events and personal appearances for talent
-Assisting in and covering/setting up talent photo shoots
-Overseeing and tracking all media for client campaigns
-Working with the team to execute the strategic PR plan per client/project (Pitching, research, coverage)
-Creatively thinking of groundbreaking story ideas that can entice editors and show bookers
-Devising press materials including press releases, pitches, bios, etc.
-Staying aware of existing and changing media contacts
-Creating monthly client and internal reports
-Monitoring client press breaks
-Researching new outlets and digital trends
-Handling various client accounts while looking for new business
-Moderating media interviews
-Assisting with media training for clients
Requirements:
- Four year college degree
- Strong writing, research and organizational skills
- Self-starter, able to work independently as well as in teams
- Strong ability to prioritize, solve problems and be resourceful
- Able to handle fast-paced PR environment
- Able to work well under pressure and take direction well
- Able to handle confidential information/issues in a sensitive manner
- Able to take direction remotely
- Laptop/Computer
*Interest or experience in music pr strongly preferred.
