Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for candidates to fill the two (2) positions at the rank of Assistant Professor (Tenure Track), Professor of Practice, or Lecturer. The faculty in the Department of Digital Media pride themselves in pushing for industry quality work in the classroom. We are looking for someone who will uphold these high standards of quality and help us continue to grow and guide our students toward their professional goals.
Ideal candidates qualifications include:
Substantial industry experience in their field of expertise;
A passion for teaching at the post-secondary or graduate level;
A portfolio that demonstrates aesthetic, conceptual, and technical skills;
Good organization, oral and written communication skills;
An eagerness to help students grow;
A collaborative disposition with coworkers.
Women and minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.
Each applicant will be eligible for one of the following three positions depending on the applicant's qualifications and the department needs.
Assistant Professor (Tenure Track)
Responsibilities:
Teaching a variety of production classes in digital media in one or more of our concentration areas: animation, game design, visual effects, and visualization. Generally, a 3/3 teaching load.
Service through committee work, curriculum development, recruitment, creative work, student portfolio mentoring, etc.
Developing an ongoing body of peer-reviewed research and/or creative work.
Qualifications:
Terminal degree in digital media, digital arts, computer science, art, or a relevant digital media discipline completed by August 1, 2021.
Good written and oral English skills.
Able to begin work August 2021.
Professor of Practice
Responsibilities:
Teach 4/4 schedule
Service through committee work, curriculum development, recruitment, creative work, student portfolio mentoring, etc.
Qualifications:
Well-qualified professionals with extensive experience in digital media will be considered with a position-relevant undergraduate or master's degree (in digital media, digital arts, computer science, art, or a relevant digital media discipline).
Be distinguished practitioners who have had a major impact on fields important to the Department's teaching and/or external engagement, and who are committed to enhancing ETSU's programs and reputation.
Have significant professional experience, at least 8-10 years, with work on projects of national reputation.
Good written and oral English skills.
Able to begin work August 2021.
Lecturer
Responsibilities:
Teach 4/4 schedule
Service through committee work, curriculum development, recruitment, creative work, student portfolio mentoring, etc.
Qualifications:
Masters level degree in digital media, digital arts, computer science, art, or a relevant digital media field.
Good written and oral English skills,
