Classical music publisher and management company for several internationally recognized composers and musicians, including Philip Glass, Nico Muhly, Rufus Wainwright, Tom Waits, and Ravi Shankar seeks an intern for the Fall of 2018. This is an unpaid internship for college credit. Candidates will work on a wide variety of projects, including:
- General copyright administration activities
- Promotional outreach
- Internal database management
- Internal music catalog management
- Social media tracking, analytics and content creation
- Calendar maintenance and itinerary creation
- General office duties, including phone line supervision, maintenance of office supply, merch and CD inventory, receiving and sending mail, and maintaining an organized and efficient office space
- Assist music assistants and copyists with archival scanning and digital library database maintenance
- Other miscellaneous projects pertaining to music management and publishing
Candidates must be based in NYC, comfortable with Mac computers and proficient in Excel. Undergraduate or graduate students preferred. Ideal candidates are interested in learning more about music publishing and working closely with managers at a small music management company representing a wide range of artists. Knowledge of classical music a plus. Candidates must be detail oriented and organized with strong problem solving skills.
Candidates should expect to work 2-3 days per week (10-15 hrs, flexible) in our small, friendly work environment that offers exposure to artist management, music publishing and recorded music. Start and end dates flexible, ideally late August - mid-December
