Position Description:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for marketing a large portfolio of events presented by DSP Shows across upstate New York and New England. This individual will work directly with the partners to create and implement marketing strategies for shows in venues ranging from 200 capacity clubs to 7000 capacity amphitheaters.
Duties Include:
Coordinating all aspects of marketing, publicity, and promotions for live events. Create detailed promotional and advertising plans identifying a targeted demographic for each individual show.
Working closely with the partners to determine budgets and coordinating buys for digital, radio, print, television and other various campaigns
Taking a leadership role in developing relationships with media partners, artist representatives and tour marketers
Creating press releases, securing promotion and overseeing the creation of advertising materials
Analyzing data and identifying areas of need; recommending marketing options and courses of action; and implementing directives
Follow up with media outlets and artist management on additional marketing opportunities to increase ticket sales. Liaison with media, venues, vendors, labels and artist management
Represent DSP Shows by attending live shows, networking events, and meetings to cultivate relationships with artists, industry professionals and the local community.
The Ideal Candidate:
Has extensive knowledge and a strong passion for music with knowledge of the music industry and artist demographics
Minimum Bachelor of Arts/Science (4 year degree) in a related area
5 years' experience in arts or event marketing
Knowledge of advertising, digital marketing and social media strategy and best practices
Is a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a high volume and time sensitive environment
Resourceful and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create and foster relationships
A proactive team player with a positive attitude
Able to trouble shoot and problem solve independently
Maintains a high level of verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights, weekends and holidays
Advanced computer skills especially in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Photoshop
