The Data Science and Engineering team is a cross-functional engineering and operations team responsible for an array of data processing needs at DreamWorks . The Data Science and Engineering team is part of the larger Platform Services group responsible for implementation and engineering support of production services and infrastructure components that powers the DreamWorks Animation movie-making toolset.
In this role, you will be expected to lead a team of Data Scientists and Software Engineers towards building and sustaining an efficient Data processing, training and inference platform.
Responsibilities include:
Help envision and drive a roadmap leading to AI/ML driven business outcomes.
Manage and mentor a team of engineers with a wide variety of skill sets.
Architect solutions towards building a MLOPs platform.
Provide Data Modeling and Architecture guidelines for in-house applications.
Manage multiple concurrent projects simultaneously, with occasionally conflicting priorities.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and plan and execute deliverables in service of the Studio needs.
Stay current with market trends / advancements and proactively recommend technology solutions to address business needs and requirements
Qualifications/Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related (or equivalent experience)
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of people management experience with relevant knowledge of managing development and data science teams.
- Proficient with Scala or Java
- Must understand Kafka components like Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams etc..
- Experience building scalable REST APIs in Java or Scala via Spring Boot, AKKA HTTP, Play Framework, etc..
- Strong experience with ML platforms like KubeFlow, SparkML, TensorFlow, H2O, Azure Machine Learning etc.
- Experience with any of the major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Sound knowledge of SQL & NoSQL databases
- Understanding of version control tools like Git
- Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills
- Strong project, time management, and team collaboration skills
Desired Characteristics
- 5+ years of experience building or maintaining enterprise or cloud-native software products
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Jenkins and Git
- Experience with Azure
