Enterprise Sourcing collaborates with stakeholders to identify, select, negotiate with, and manage suppliers who contribute to the creation of the amazing experiences you have come to expect from our leading global brands… Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, ABC, ESPN, and more. Enterprise Sourcing is a shared service to all business segments across The Walt Disney Company in need of support for either competitive supplier selections or direct negotiations with previously identified suppliers. Enterprise Sourcing focuses on Indirect Spend categories such as Marketing, Professional Services, Staff Supplementation Services, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Human Resources, Real Estate and Facilities.
Responsibilities:
A Day in the Life…
As an Enterprise Sourcing Intern, you can expect exposure to a variety of sourcing categories, teams and leaders across the organization. We are a team of internal consultants, collaborators, negotiators and number-crunchers in roles where no day looks the same as the other. Because of our dynamic environment, initial intern assignments will be solidified prior to arrival and will be based on true and timely business needs during your tenure, with additional assignments identified throughout the internship based on the needs of the business. The list below is a sampling of the type of activities you may be asked to take part in during your internship.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and contribute to sourcing activities such as supplier identification for an upcoming social media campaign or market research effort, evaluation of proposals for a logistics solution for Parks, building a negotiation strategy for a proposed consulting engagement, preparing market intelligence on landscaping services for a portfolio of corporate locations….
• Analyze data to identify insights and/or create management dashboards or reports to help inform category management strategies and provide leadership with visibility into team performance…
• Apply critical thinking to identify opportunities to unlock value from IT, Finance, Tax, and Business Consulting Professional Services engagements…
• Identify and create process efficiencies enabling elevated service delivery and team collaboration…
Each intern will also have the opportunity to present highlights of their contributions to Enterprise Sourcing leadership at the conclusion of their internship.
Basic Qualifications:
What we are looking for…
• Familiarity with and demonstrated interest in one or more sourcing-related functions (e.g., negotiation, quantitative analysis, supplier management, contract development/administration, project management, market analysis, etc.)
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills
• Ability to perform detailed quantitative analysis in MS Excel and generate insights from large amounts of often disparate data
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities
• Proficiency with MS Office, mainly advanced Excel functions
• Previous experience conducting market research and presenting findings
Preferred Qualifications:
• Some work/intern experience in a professional corporate setting, ideally with some qualitative analytical responsibilities
• Experience working in SAP, Oracle or other ERP software
Required Education
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
• Desired fields of study: Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or other comparable discipline with a quantitative analytical focus.
Additional Information:
• The approximate dates of this internship are January 2020 through June 2020.
• Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship (Able to occasionally work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends or holidays)
• Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past six (6) months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Housing: Interns must provide their own housing for the duration of their internship program.
• Transportation: Interns must have reliable transportation to get to and from work for the duration of their internship program.
