This learning and development role supports design, development, facilitation and program management for all open-enrollment and custom learning and development experiences for our clients in New York, NY and Bristol, CT. This role is responsible for assessing the learning needs of our key business functions (i.e. Technology, Disney Streaming Services, Ad Sales, etc.) and developing custom and open-enrollment leadership development programs that reinforce the culture and environment for Direct-to-Consumer & International. These learning solutions will help enable our leaders and teams to focus on understanding our consumer, drive innovative technology, operate with a global mindset while implementing locally, and ensure best-in-class quality.
Responsibilities:
Learning Assessment & Strategy
• On-going identification and assessment of needs and prioritization of initiatives and projects for clients and overall Direct-to-Consumer & International programs in New York, NY and Bristol, CT
• Partner with clients to develop learning strategies that enhance business and leadership capabilities, and drive lasting results
• Apply learning models, benchmark best practices/trends, and maintain knowledge of cutting-edge approaches
• Maintain a high level of understanding and knowledge of client's business strategies; support these strategies by developing comprehensive learning and development plans that align with the client's goals and objectives
Client-Based Learning Consultation
• Act as the learning point of contact for HR Business Partners and clients, and take a consultative approach to develop fit-for-purpose learning strategies and solutions
• Understand and measure organizational readiness for comprehensive learning and development strategies within the client's business area
• Partner with HR Business Partners and other stakeholders to progress learning and adopt a holistic and cultural approach to creating a learning organization
• Identify and plan client-based learning interventions, including coordination with Learning Center of Excellence to ensure support needs on design and delivery
• Maintain a high level of expertise on Disney's leadership development products and services and Direct-to-Consumer & International programming
• Rigorously keep up with learning and development trends to provide effective, meaningful and cutting-edge learning solutions to client groups
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships across the HR and business community and stay connected to organization and learning and development needs
Facilitation & Learner Experience
• Facilitate orientation and leadership development content for open enrollment programs for Direct-to-Consumer & International in New York and Bristol, CT
• Facilitate custom leadership development solutions based on client or business need (i.e. coaching, communication skills, team building, change management, etc.)
• Design or provide additional tools and resources that support development beyond formal training, which may include relationship or on-the-job experiences and resources that drive development and transfer of learning for practical application
• Understand and utilize various participant learning styles in order to facilitate the best learning situations, demonstrating concern for the participant's learning environment
• Coordinate with regional support teams to ensure all logistics, support materials and supplies are ready and available to make sure learning experience is successful
Program Management
• Provide project management and coordination for a variety of learning and programs and services
• Prepare and report out project status updates to the project team and key stakeholders
• Analyze employee and leader feedback /evaluations and provide recommendations to address
• Serve as the liaison between Org & Talent Solutions team and various Disney stakeholder groups in the region (i.e. HR Business Partners, Learning COE, other segment Learning teams, Facilities, etc.)
Basic Qualifications:
• BA/BS or equivalent experience in Instructional Design, Psychology, Consulting, Training and Curriculum Development, Communications, or related field required
• 5 years of experience in consulting, learning and development, organizational development, and/or team development
• Service orientation and ability to apply a consumer mindset to everything you do
• Team player and strong collaborator both within Org & Talent solutions team and DTCI HR as a whole
• Experience with instructional design models, approaches, systems and tools
• Ability to apply a variety of learning approaches that span formal training, relationship-based, and experience-based development
• Proven experience consulting on learning and development (contracting, needs analysis, and action planning) and tailoring the approach to meet the needs of learners
• Ability to facilitate highly complex, dynamic and interactive content while adapting approach and style to a variety of audiences and learning preferences
• Ability to be agile and manage competing priorities in rapidly changing environment
• Ability to project manage, drive work to deadlines, engage stakeholders and follow up on outstanding items
• Demonstrated collaboration, problem solving, organizational and decision making skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Required Education
• BA/BS or equivalent experience in Instructional Design, Psychology, Consulting, Training and Curriculum Development, Communications, or related field required
