Disney Channel Media Relations/PR Internship (DATG) CA-Summer 2019
Job Summary:
Disney Channel Media Relations handles publicity for all properties across Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior and Radio Disney.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Compiling press clippings (both print, online and broadcast) on an as-needed basis, including compiling coverage following major announcements.
• Pulling episodic clips to provide to press outlets.
• Drafting press releases, talent memos and press kit materials.
• Proofing and editing press kit copy and press releases.
• Pulling media lists for localized outreach.
• Preparation for special events which includes brainstorming ideas for both press outreach and the event itself, researching said press outlets, tracking RSVP's, preparing press kits and working the event.
Basic Qualifications:
What you bring to the role…
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Proven skills utilizing MS Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Previous media relations and/or publicity internship experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Responsible, dependable, and organized with excellent communication/writing skills.
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize assignments by deadline.
• Be a collaborative team player!
Preferred Qualifications:
• Junior or Senior-level standing, or a recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date.
• Previous internship experience at a media/entertainment company.
• Career interest in media relations/publicity.
• Knowledge of Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior and Radio Disney is a plus.
• Knowledge of CisionPoint and TVEyes a plus.
Additional Information:
• All candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
• All candidates must be at least 18 years old.
• All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship.
• Work is not remote; it is in-office.
• All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
• All candidates must be able to work in the Burbank office and provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
Program Dates
• All candidates must be available from May/June to August/September
• All candidates must be willing to work 40 hours/week
