Job Summary:
ABC News is hiring a Technical Manager to work in the field.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for managing field technical operations for ABC News. The position will work with and support all ABC News platforms and shows. Job requirements include 8 years experience in ENG field engineering and production with a working knowledge of live remote operations including budgeting, power requirements and generator knowledge, familiarity of remote crew assignments and the ability to survey potential live locations is vital. Additional skills include a strong background and understanding of video streaming, networking, transmission and I/P, VoIP, microwave, satellite, RF operations, and communication interfaces.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 8 years of experience working in live television either in studio or the field or both
• Must possess good organizational and communication skills and be able to manage a team of people.
• Must be willing to travel on short notice both domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications:
• 10 or more years of experience working in live television either in studio or the field or both
Required Education
• Bachelor Degree in Broadcasting/Engineering or equivalent experience
Preferred Education
• BA or BS from a four year accredited college or university or equivalent experience
