Supervising Producer - Pennsylvania Avenue Unit
Job Summary:
ABC News Washington is looking for a Supervising Producer to join our Pennsylvania Avenue team, reporting to the Coordinating Producer. This team is full of sharp, inquisitive reporters and producers who cover Washington from both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue.
Responsibilities:
The Supervising Producer is a tip-of-the-spear, passionate news leader who can help manage the team as it digs deep on coverage of the White House and the U.S. Congress for all ABC platforms. He/she will serve as an editorial captain and clearinghouse for the vast beat, work with a growing team of on-air correspondents and off-air beat producers to set the day's agenda, push forward our reporting and break news. In addition to guiding and crafting reporting and storytelling that offers context and depth, the Supervising Producer will engage ABC's vast subject matter expertise to assist scripting and fact-checking, as well as serve a liaison to the broadcast and digital editorial leaders.
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of six (6) years' experience producing in the news industry is required. The Supervising Producer must have extremely strong editorial skills, and knowledge and a strong interest in all things White House and Capitol Hill is a must. Candidates must have an established record of producing creative, exclusive stories and strong writing/ scripting skills. An ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle developing news situations is essential. The candidate should also have strong management experience.
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
