Freeform is looking for an intern in the Program Planning and Scheduling Strategy Department. This Department is responsible for all linear and non-linear scheduling, and acquisitions for the network. The team works closely with all departments within Freeform, including Original Programming, Marketing, Ad-Sales, and Publicity. This is a wonderful opportunity for an intern to experience what it is like to program for a top cable network. The intern will work directly with executives in scheduling and strategy to get a well-rounded view of all areas within the department. The intern will take on special projects assigned with the goal of creating an educational and rewarding experience.
Responsibilities:
A day in the life…
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
Help with linear program planning & scheduling activities including:
• Long term program planning
• Monthly program scheduling and listings preparation
• Tracking key competitive information
• Brainstorm and propose themed stunts and lists of episodes that will most appropriately fit a planned stunt
Help with multi-platform program planning including:
• Long term multi-platform planning
• Scheduling and Meta data
Basic Qualifications:
What you bring to the role:
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Junior or Senior-level standing.
• Strong command of MS Office suite and proficiency in Excel
• Passion and knowledge of present and past television programming and non-linear digital programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Must be self-motivated, energetic, detail oriented team player that thrives in a collaborative environment
• Strong analytical aptitude
• Must be able to work efficiently under time constraints
Additional Information:
Internship Eligibility
• All students must possess unrestricted work authorization
• All students must be at least 18 years old
• All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship.
All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
Program Dates
• All candidates must be available during the months of May/June to August/September for the summer internship program.
• All candidates must be available to work approximately 20 hours/week in Burbank, CA.
