Part Time Unpaid Internship
Job Summary:
The Strategy and Finance group is a fast-paced, dynamic organization working directly for the President of Freeform and Disney ABC TV Group's segment-level CFO organization. The Strategy and Finance team spearheads strategic planning & analysis, annual budgeting, forecasting and ad-hoc strategic projects for senior executive leadership, including programming investment decisions, green-light modeling (series and movies), and new business development efforts for the network.
We are seeking a Part Time or Full Time MBA Spring Intern that will support the Strategy and Finance team for Freeform, Disney ABC TV Group's Cable and Digital Network for Young Adults (Original Series include Pretty Little Liars, Grown-ish, The Bold Type, The Fosters, and Famous in Love).
The intern will interface with a broad range of departments both within Freeform and DATG, including business development, programming, production finance, digital, and distribution in order to support and help evaluate strategic, financial and operational initiatives for the network.
Responsibilities:
Through partnerships with key stakeholders the internship will include: performing financial and strategic analyses, decision support, creating / improving financial models, supporting timely preparation of forecasts/plans, and effectively communicating any recommendations, issues or changes. By providing high-quality, accurate analytics and thoughtful, data-driven insights, the MBA intern plays an integral role in supporting the short-term and long-term success of this billion dollar business.
The intern may (among other duties):
-Contribute to the preparation and analysis of the Five Year Strategic Plan, and quarterly forecasts including the accompanying senior management presentations and supporting schedules
-Perform research, modeling and develop ad-hoc presentations as a key team member on a variety of projects and initiatives for the network.
-Monitor industry trends ad provide a weekly executive summary on key strategic implications for the business
-Support the development of presentations and detailed reports for senior leadership, consisting of programming and distribution metrics, overhead trending, cause of change analysis, and executive level financial summaries
-Collaborate with key stakeholders, accounting and Segment finance team members to improve the effectiveness of the financial planning process, assumptions, and results
Basic Qualifications:
What you bring to the role:
-Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
-Proven skills & high level of proficiency utilizing MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Passion for the global media industry and Disney's brands and franchises
-Pre-MBA work experience in FP&A or strategic planning
-Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
-Highly collaborative and team-oriented work style
-Able to balance multiple priorities and resolve issues quickly without sacrificing quality
-Proactive and creative in approaching problems and presenting financial data
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA from a top-tier school
Additional Information:
-All candidates must be eligible to work in the US
-All candidates must be at least 18 years old
-All students must currently be enrolled in an MBA program and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an MBA program
- All students must be available to work Part Time 3 days/week or Full Time in Burbank, CA
-All candidates must be available during the months of January through May for the Spring internship season
-All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
-All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
