Consumer Insights Internship, DATG (CA) Spring 2019
Job Summary:
The ABC Consumer Insights department oversees brand, content, digital and strategy research projects for ABC. Working in close collaboration with the ratings and analytics team, the consumer research team conducts qualitative and quantitative research with core consumers to inform and impact departments across the division, including Development, Programming, Marketing, Digital and Strategy teams.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting in data analyses, proof-reading and writing surveys, discussion guides and reports
• Viewing and analyzing focus groups
• Reviewing and writing summaries of syndicated reports for marketing and strategic purposes
• Producing regular reports/memos on industry news and trends
• Supporting members of the department as needed
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Unparalleled attention to detail
• Strong work ethic and ability to self-motivate
• Interest in and desire to learn more about Consumer Insights/Market Research
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable with numbers and data
• Skilled with Microsoft office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
• Tracking and reporting on Nielsen ratings for ABC and competitive programs in primetime
• Assist in the daily execution of core ratings report
Preferred Qualifications:
• Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year or recent graduate
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Interest in the television/entertainment industry preferred
• Ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of TV research and Nielsen software
• Prior experience working at a network or studio (research department preferred)
• Basic knowledge of SPSS or similar a plus
Additional Information:
Internship Eligibility
• All students must possess unrestricted work authorization
• All students must be at least 18 years old
• You must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship.
• All candidates must be available from January through May
• All candidates must be willing to work 40 hours a week
• All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
