Job Summary:
Good Morning America is hiring a Social Media Producer. The Social Media Producer is a key member of the Good Morning America Social Team, responsible for presenting GMA and GMA Daycontent to audiences across all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.) and helping maintain best practices that grow total audience engagement. The Social Media Producer will be responsible for optimizing both show content and digital content. They will be on set during show hours to capture Facebook Lives, Instagram Lives, Instagram Stories and more with high-profile talent so should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating impeccable judgment and social acumen. The SME will also edit shareable videos for the GMA website and social channels, post those videos on site and social and write articles to accompany the shareable videos.
The candidate should be comfortable optimizing content across different platforms, working closely with the show teams. The candidate should be comfortable working quickly and efficiently across the entire Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. The candidate must understand the way social media works, have basic knowledge of what kind of content does well for a lifestyle brand and be interested in lifestyle content.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for guiding the voice of Good Morning America on social media
• Create engaging content, including video, for social platforms
• Assist in development and implementation of a social media strategy to drive followers, engagement, and conversation across all social arms
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum two years of experience creating digital video content
• Comfortable editing video on quick turnaround with Adobe Premiere
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Adherence to the highest standards of journalism
• Comfortable working closely with high profile talent
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two or more years of experience, at a major news organization, managing social media accounts
• Working knowledge of social discovery tools like Crowdtangle and Storyful
