Job Summary:
ABC Studios seeks a qualified candidate for a Sr Manager, Current Programming position in Los Angeles. In this the role, the person will represent the Studio on assigned Current series.
Responsibilities:
• Implement the creative strategy as defined by the Head of Current
• Manage current programming responsibilities on existing shows, which involves but is not limited to: relationships with talent (writers, producers, directors and actors)
• Continue to actively manage freshman shows once they go to series as well as actively maintain veteran series, which involves but is not limited to
• Reading scripts & giving notes on every episode
• Watching dailies & giving notes on every cut
• Serving as a facilitator, arbitrator, mediator, coach, tie-breaker, etc. with talent
• Ongoing staffing of writers and directors
• Ongoing participation in key casting decisions
• Interfacing with Production and Business Affairs
• Seek direct feedback from Head of Current on work related priorities
• Interface with ABC Entertainment on all production and programming issues
• Coordinate with ancillary TWDC Businesses for all series related needs
• Collaborate with the ABCEG Franchise Management team on related franchise and content management issues and opportunities
• Collaborate with other departments and department heads as appropriate
Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of 8 or more years of overall work experience, preferably within network or studio development and/or current programming.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the scripted series production process
• Strong existing relationships with production companies, agents, producers, etc
• Established creative and story development skills
• Knowledge of and interest in ABC content and target demographic
• Self-motivated to develop new ideas
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
• Ability to multitask and manage complex projects
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
