GMA Segment Producer (Overnight)
Job Summary:
ABC News is seeking a Washington DC-based overnight Segment Producer for Good Morning America and our other early morning programming. This Segment Producer serves as a Producer/Editor who is responsible for writing, producing and editing hard news content as well as coordinating correspondent & guest live shots with the Washington Assignment Desk.
Responsibilities:
Candidates must be proficient with Avid Editing, have a proven track record of sound editorial judgment, multi-task and crash news stories under tight deadlines. Responsibilities include editing original content, completing news pieces that are already underway, working closely with correspondents, producers and senior producers (in New York) on news pieces and being able to make last-minute changes before/during air, working with the ABC News Graphics department to come up with creative storytelling elements, provide editorial support for correspondents and communicate efficiently with the ABC News control room in New York.
Basic Qualifications:
This candidate should be a proficient producer, editor and script-writer and have at least 3-5 years of experience in the news business. The position requires someone to work flexible hours and in a fast-paced ever changing news environment.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
