Job Summary:
ABC News Radio is hiring a Newswriter/Producer to work with our team of talented news content creators. S/he is responsible for writing broadcast news and related content.
Responsibilities:
The Newswriter/Producer responsibilities include gathering audio and information on news stories and preparing them for broadcast while working with correspondents and anchors to create hourly newscasts. This is a deadline-driven environment requiring exceptional writing and a commitment to accuracy. The Newswriter/Producer works closely with anchors/reporters and newsroom managers to ensure the highest journalism standards are met consistently.
Basic Qualifications:
• Applicants must have a familiarity with newsroom systems
• Applicants must be proficient with radio audio equipment for playback, ingest and editing
• Must be highly competent at broadcast news writing
• Must be available to work all shifts in a 24/7 newsroom
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in a dynamic broadcast or digital company preferred. Experience with broadcast radio. Short form broadcast writing experience.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
