Multimedia Producer (Project Hire)
Job Summary:
ABC News is looking for a creative Multimedia Producer ready to innovate and experiment with new forms of video storytelling. The Multimedia Producer will be tasked with creating daily original content with ABC News correspondents and producers around the globe. The ideal candidate should have a natural news instinct and ability to cover a breaking news story with accuracy and speed.
This is a project position and is anticipated to last one year.
Responsibilities:
• Pitch stories
• Conduct interviews
• Gather elements for news stories
• Script daily packages
• Manage video editing production and updates
• Coordinate field productions with correspondents and fellow producers
• Shoot and produce original stories
• Transcribe interviews
• Curate viral content, leveraging tools such as Storyful
Basic Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of producing news video content
• Strong sense of mobile-friendly video
• Willingness to embrace and innovate around new audience tastes and trends
• Thorough knowledge of digital production and post-production workflows
• Proficient w/ Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere and After Effects
• Proficient w/ Canon C100 or similar DSLR cameras
• Ability to balance multiple priorities, projects and tasks
• Proficient with AP Style writing
• Brings energy, humor and positivity to the team
Preferred Qualifications:
• Original writing, editing and reporting skills
• Comfortable covering stories on a wide range of topics
• Well-organized
• Capable of rolling with change
Required Education
BA or BS from a 4 year accredited college or university or equivalent experience
