Job Summary:
ABC seeks a Labor Relations Manager to join its Legal Department in New York. This department provides labor relations services for ABC's Daytime, Sports, News and Owned Television Station Business Units, as well as scripted dramatic programs produced in New York.
Responsibilities:
ABC is seeking a Labor Relations Manager to join its Legal Department in New York. Primary responsibilities include providing daily guidance and advice on all aspects of labor relations and contract administration to production and creative management, grievance management and advocacy, advising on contract compliance, serving as key member of contract negotiations teams, drafting contract proposals, providing data analyses for contract negotiations, performing contract analyses in connection with corporate initiatives, administer collectively bargained employee discipline and performance management provisions, providing creative solutions to evolving departmental work enhancements and efficiencies through technology, and serving as a subject matter resource on the benefits applicable to employees in over 40 bargaining units.
The position requires the ability to develop close, positive working relationships with clients, including all levels of management, develop strong collaborative relationships with unions while achieving change management goals, strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, presentation skills, a team orientation, ability to work independently and manage competing priorities yet seek guidance when appropriate, find creative resolutions to complex issues, strong analytical skills to drive business solutions, thrive in a constantly evolving workplace of multi-dimensional issues, manage projects requiring collaboration with other departments including IT, payroll and finance, contribute to a strong-performing team. Proficiency in SharePoint, negotiations specific data management systems, and Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel.
Basic Qualifications:
• At least three years of experience in Labor Relations, preferably in television and internet content production business.
• Collective bargaining and grievance handling experience preferred.
Required Education
• Degree in Labor Relations. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in labor relations, industrial relations, human resources or related fields.
