Evening Producer / Reporter - Pennsylvania Avenue Unit
ABC NEWS WASHINGTON is hiring an EVENING PRODUCER/REPORTER Pennsylvania Avenue Unit.
ABC News Washington is looking for a sharp, inquisitive Producer/Reporter to join our Pennsylvania Avenue team. Among the chief duties will be crafting, writing and producing scripts for ABC News correspondents covering the White House and Capitol Hill. Whether crafting a script for ABC's Good Morning America or World News Tonight, the Producer/Reporter will be expected to have a strong command of the stories driving the beat. He/she must have the ability to report out and creatively craft editorial information for the network at large. As well as working directly with correspondents and senior producers, this producer/reporter should have experience turning content for a variety of platforms, including writing and TV producing, and be prepared to help guide and drive the editorial coverage on this fast-paced and demanding beat.
This position requires a mix of skills including strong reporting, television news script writing, package producing and story writing. Prefer previous experience covering the White House and/or Congress. Familiarity with ABC News platforms, an ability to communicate well with correspondents and senior editorial leaders, and experience turning quickly for various platforms are musts in this job. Must be willing to work Sunday-Thursday evenings. Flexibility in assignments is critical.
