ABC NEWS WASHINGTON is hiring a COORDINATING PRODUCER – Agencies & Transportation.
Responsibilities
The Coordinating Producer is responsible for managing staff and overseeing content created by ABC News' Agencies and Transportation team in Washington. The vast beat includes everything from the USDA to FEMA and from the Department of Energy to the Department of Education. In addition, the team is point for all transportation reporting including airlines, rails, automobiles and agencies regulating those industries. The Coordinating Producer will lead in developing new techniques for telling this beat's stories across all ABC News platforms.
Basic Qualifications
A minimum of eight (8) years' experience producing in the news industry is required. Applicants must have extremely strong editorial skills; and knowledge and a strong interest in the governmental agencies and the transportation industry is a must. Candidates must have an established record of producing creative, exclusive stories and strong writing/scripting skills; an ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle developing news situations is essential. Candidates should also have proven team leadership experience and an ability to manage a team of producers and digital journalists.
Required Education
• BA or BS from a 4 year accredited college or university or equivalent experience
