Job Summary:
The Casting Assistant supports the SVP, Casting - Freeform.
Responsibilities:
• Manage high call volume.
• Organize and coordinate casting sessions, meetings, and conference calls for various projects including movies, on-going series, developing series, and pilots.
• Compose character descriptions through minor script coverage.
• Organize auditions and interviews w/ Actors and Casting Directors for specific projects.
• Aid in compiling lists of suitable actors for each role in both developing movies and TV shows.
• Keep talent and files for current projects updated with current cast lists, sessions, and deal memos.
Basic Qualifications:
• 2-3 years of related administrative experience (in a casting department in network/cable, or a production company or agency, or related environment)
• Communicates effectively and tactfully in person, in written communication, and on the telephone
• Organized and detail oriented when under time restraints
• Prioritizes and multi-tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Takes initiative: a polished, proactive self-starter
• Handles confidential information with discretion within a small, laid back, and (at times) fast paced business environment
• Works well under time constraints, handles multiple projects and prioritizes assignments
• Technical Skills: PC Proficient with firm grasp of Microsoft Outlook, PPT, Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in an entertainment related field, specific experience in TV Casting preferred
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent work experience
