Job Summary:
20/20 is hiring an Associate Producer.
ABC News is responsible for all of the ABC Television Network's news programming, including ''World News Tonight with David Muir,'' ''Nightline,'' ''Good Morning America,'' ''20/20,'' ''This Week with George Stephanopoulos,'' ABC News Radio, ABCNews.com, and satellite service NewsOne. An award-winning team provides the latest information and analysis of major events to bring viewers a big-picture understanding of the world. A premier news and information alliance between ABC News and Yahoo! News blends the Network's global news-gathering operation and unrivaled lineup of trusted anchors and reporters with the digital media company's vast distribution and cutting-edge technology to reach up to 100 million people in the U.S. each month on PCs, mobile devices and tablets. In addition, ABC News and Univision News have formed FUSION, a joint venture, to launch a multiplatform news, information and entertainment service to deliver culturally relevant programming in English to U.S. Hispanics, the youngest and fastest growing demographic in the U.S.
Responsibilities:
• Support producers in all aspects of production – editorial and video research, writing, shooting, interviewing and basic editing.
• Must also be able to work independently on stand-alone assignments including day of air pieces, and voice overs.
• Prior production experience and proven technical skills required.
• Creative, innovative approach important.
• Candidate must be willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong editorial and production skills, including prior news coverage experience
• Strong organizational skills and ability to perform duties under deadline
• Avid editing
• Camera and lighting - multiple formats
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to generate original story ideas and produce original stories for broadcast
• Desire to work in a collaborative, high pressure environment
Required Education
• BA or BS from a four year accredited college or university or equivalent experience
