Job Summary:
The primary function of the Assistant Editor is to efficiently prepare material for an edit session, and to adjust and prepare for delivery promotional materials edited by others at ABC Entertainment Marketing. Assistant Editors also are expected to fill in during ongoing edit sessions when required. Preparation and editing must be accomplished within all appropriate technical aspects for each deliverable medium.
As an Assistant Editor for the Disney ABC Television Group, you will be a member of one of the most creative and talented teams in the entertainment business and an important asset to the production department, in which you will report.
Responsibilities:
• Troubleshooting technical anomalies
• Ability to manage and organize projects, bins, and media
• Attend departmental meetings for both production and creative
• Deliver elements in accordance to Finishing specifications
• Maintain administrative paperwork
Basic Qualifications:
• Must be proficient on Adobe Premiere Pro CC
• Knowledgeable of effects packages (Boris Continuum & Sapphire)
• Must be familiar with social media content and their associated file formats, and able to edit for these platforms
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Photoshop preferred
• Strong understanding of importing and exporting Quick Time files
• Must have some level of knowledge of various technical HD broadcast standards and restrictions
• Must possess strong understanding for creative process, both video and audio
• Must be able to collaborate effectively with creative personnel
• Must be able to take direction and work independently on technical and creative execution
• Must be able to handle a constantly changing environment under tight deadlines
• Must be able to work within a team environment
• Must be able to learn and grow with new technology
• Must have flexible schedule
• Must have 3-5 years practical experience on Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere in Post Production environment
• Promo experience preferred
• Knowledge of Leader HD Scopes and/or color correction tools is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast pace on-air marketing environment
• Must be proficient in various computer software, including PC & Mac environments
Preferred Education
Bachelor's degree preferred
