The Vice President – Brand Partnership Sales will be responsible for partnering with the Executive Vice President – Ad Sales to develop the vision and monetization strategy around the launch of The Magnolia Network, a joint venture between Discovery and Chip and Joanna Gaines scheduled to launch in the Fall 2020. This role is responsible for building intentional partnerships with endemic advertisers within the Home category who want to leverage the brand safe environment of The Magnolia Network to engage with our audience. This position will play a vital role in packaging 360 solutions inclusive of The Magnolia Network for clients across Discovery’s Linear, Digital TVE, Site & Social and thematic tentpole opportunities during the year. Will partner with Vice Presidents Ad Sales across the country to ensure The Magnolia Network is packaged across portfolio of Discovery owned networks when meeting with direct clients and agencies.
Responsibilities
1. Lead sales strategy and generate Magnolia Network revenue & partnerships across all platforms.
2. Develop content and multi-platform solutions for the marketplace and for specific clients.
3. Partner with EVPs’ sales teams representing brands and products for client/agency meetings & presentations as required by EVP of Sales.
4. Utilize network knowledge to identify key sales opportunities with a keen focus on Discovery’s commitment to home enthusiast category.
5. Develop relationships with C-suite stakeholders to broker partnerships and content solutions that deliver KPIs for specific audiences.
6. Represent and drive sales needs in shaping of network strategies.
7. Partner with networks in the development of sales tent poles, including developing presentations and sales materials.
8. Collaborate with colleagues from Sales, Price Planning & Inventory, and Finance as needed to ensure effective pricing and inventory decisions are reached and collective yield targets are met.
9. Position demands significant interaction with network GM, Programming, Marketing, and Communication as well as strong cooperation with colleagues across the Sales.
10. In partnership with the Home Bundle EVP, SVP and VP’s, prospect new business and as appropriate participate in client and agency calls and meetings.
Requirements
* Candidate must have 10-12 years-related senior Ad Sales experience.
* Strong conceptual and creative selling skills and the ability to position these deals against competing media entities is required.
* Individual must be innovative and creatively execute company goals and directions.
* Must have experience and success in selling within the multicultural landscape.
* Position requires travel up to 30% of the time.
* BA degree or equivalent required.
* Must have legal right to work in the US.
