Full Time Job
The Specialist position will reside in the Factual division of Global Talent Management & Operations (GTMO) and will be based in the New York office. This person will provide operational support for the Senior Director and act as a liaison between on-air talent featured on Discovery and Science and their respective networks.
Responsibilities
1. Engage talent early in the production process to build/maintain personal and business relationships.
2. Support the Senior Director in onboarding talent to the network and provide ongoing guidance and mentorship throughout the term of the talent’s relationship with the company.
3. Track milestones in the talent’s personal and professional lives with a focus on understanding the talent’s deal terms, interests, skills, expertise, etc.
4. Track and help manage internal requests from network teams and support groups, as well as external requests from partners, clients, and third parties for various talent across the organization.
5. Support overall operational workflow of team initiatives and tasks led by the Senior Director.
6. Maintain talent information in Discovery’s talent database, including contact information, representation, brand use, and other key details.
7. Accompany and manage talent at DCI activities and events, such as marketing and ad sales shoots, upfront presentations, TCA, etc.
8. Coordinate all talent travel and logistics related to non-press and production events.
9. Research and arrange gifting for talent and other external parties as needed.
10. Perform other administrative and related duties as assigned.
Requirements
* BA/BS degree and 4 years’ experience working in television or entertainment industry.
* Experience managing needs of VIPs.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills and diplomacy, as well as the ability to exemplify calmness and composure.
* Ability to contribute and thrive in a high-energy, high-profile, and detail-oriented environment.
* Strong organizational, critical reasoning, and problem-solving skills/abilities.
* Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
* Ability to travel quickly and often when needed.
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
