The Strategy & Operations eCommerce Manager will be responsible for overseeing and growing the eCommerce department of a company with a portfolio of iconic brands (e.g. Discovery, Animal Planet, MotorTrend, TLC, Eurosport, etc.) and a significant online presence. This role will report to the Director of Digital Products & eCommerce.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute long-term global eCommerce strategy initiatives.
2. Oversee day to day operations of current eCommerce sites (store.discovery.com, store.motortrend.com) as well as additional storefronts/sites as launched.
3. Drive cross-functional initiatives across various brand stakeholders and business functions to develop and implement eCommerce strategies for existing and new storefronts.
4. Demonstrate strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives.
5. Work with eCommerce operations partner to optimize storefront, build products, and increase 3rd party assortment.
6. Develop and maintain business models for monthly and quarterly performance dashboards across all storefronts.
7. Oversees the data integrity of the internal and third-party systems used to support the business.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience required.
* Six to eight years of work experience required, working in eCommerce or with eCommerce platforms.
* A strong grasp of modern eCommerce technology and social media is essential to the job of an eCommerce Manager. An expert understanding of digital and financial analysis, website design, and digital marketing strategy will be key to fulfilling the many functions of the job.
* Experience managing budgets, setting goals and forecasting.
* Knowledge of Shopify eCommerce platform. Experience with CRM platforms a plus.
* Proactive individual who is a self-starter with great follow-through and attention to detail.
* Highly skilled multi-tasker with team player work ethic and optimistic attitude.
* High ability to interpret sales data and present insights in a concise & compelling manner to various internal stakeholders.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel and business modelling skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
