The Role
The Strategic Partnerships Manager is a valued team member responsible for executing, supporting and analyzing strategic partnerships and initiatives across the portfolio of digital brands, social platforms and direct-to-consumer products. This includes building plans to accomplish partnership goals, managing handoffs between cross-functional teams, tracking key performance indicators and milestones, communicating status updates internally and externally, and reporting on performance. You’ll be excited about working across teams in a matrixed organization and enjoy rolling up your sleeves to get work done. The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized and a proficient communicator, with a deep interest in digital media and social platforms. You are a creative and analytical problem solver, who can proactively deliver results in a fast-paced environment and leverage data to formulate actionable insights.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the execution of strategic partnerships and implementation across teams.
2. Develop and optimize partnership plans, project schedules, milestones and metrics.
3. Proactively resolve problems that arise in the execution and management of partnerships, remaining persistent and resilient when working across teams to overcome obstacles and roadblocks.
4. Develop and maintain cross functional relationships with internal teams and external partners to foster collaboration and influence outcomes.
5. Act as an advocate for Discovery’s interests externally and partners’ interests internally.
6. Leverage understanding of digital and social industry trends to manage partnerships with third party platforms and internal communication with platform teams.
7. Work with social media platform teams across global portfolio and serve as a support resource by facilitating inquiries with social platforms, bringing timely resolution to issues, and encouraging cross-brand optimization and knowledge-sharing.
8. Manage third party vendor relationships that require a centralized point of contact across platform teams and ensure the tools effectively align with our strategic priorities.
9. Assist with developing revenue models to evaluate opportunities and impact to goals.
10. Prepare monthly performance and revenue reporting with actionable insights.
Requirements
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in business development, business strategy, partnerships, social media and/or marketing, preferably for successful media brands.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Experience managing partnerships and/or projects from inception to completion.
* Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and follow-through to ensure successful delivery and achievement of desired objectives.
* Deep knowledge of the digital media landscape and major digital/social platforms.
* Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in website tracking, analytics tools, complicated spreadsheets and building presentations.
* Ability to ensure the necessary work gets done in a matrixed organization, through collaboration and influence.
* Thrive as a team player with action-oriented attitude and willingness to complete necessary tasks to accomplish partnership goals.
* Ability to build financial models to assess and forecast business opportunities.
* Excellent written communication, strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
