Responsibilities
• Lead the carousels and collections strategy getting the weekly and monthly rollout plan (provided by the Content team) implemented.
• Become an expert handling the CMS, publishing and executing the curation strategy.
• Maintain visibility of the schedule and programming strategy for other areas to assist with publishing activities, content ops quality checks, visual validations, communications or campaigns throughout the year.
• Proactively evaluate and reshape the publishing strategy based on data and powerful consumption insights. Provide consumption reports and collaboratively define benchmarks for audience and engagement metrics
• Lead curation actions (playlists) based on ingestion of new assets, local context and preferences, media trends or local context.
• Become a VOD catalog expert for BRAZIL. Provide general status (metadata, language) of the current catalog and new assets coming into the platform.
• Become an expert in Discovery many internal DAM (digital assets management) and assets tools, including any project management applications like Asana, Monday, Jira, Basecamp or Airtable.
• Work closely with cross functional teams such as Content Operations, Visual Operations, UX and product team to grow our audience.
• Test, track and report possible issues or features for the CMS. Escalate proactively and resolve if needed.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in related discipline; Master's Degree in related discipline is a plus.
• Portuguese and proficiency in English. Spanish is a plus
• 5 years of Digital Video experience in program/content planning
• Analytical mindset that can create valuable insights from user behaviour data to inform curation decisions. Strives to come up with new and more effective ways of measuring the impact of content on digital platforms.
• Process oriented individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously under a broader editorial strategy.
• Strong understanding of content in the Latin American context. Familiarity with regional and local content and preferences. Ability to make solid editorial and curatorial decisions based on understanding of our customers, and the unique characteristics of our Discovery portfolio.
• Strong understanding of the Latin American market, SVOD, and direct to consumer.
• A lover of television, movies and social media, as well as a passion for staying on top of industry trends.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and proven ability to work across regions and varying time zones.
• Excellent communication skills required with strong planning, prioritization and project management competencies
• Ability to define, drive and effectively communicate programming vision and roadmap to cross functional stakeholder and executive level teams
• Understanding and awareness of key trends and issues in the major media markets in Latin America and Brazil
