Full Time Job
This role will have the opportunity to work within an international environment and drive all development aspects of the Discovery Golf global content and local market editorial strategy. This person will work closely with the entire Discovery Golf organization including rights acquisitions, distribution, product, content and sales and marketing.
The role will be working with the content strategy team based in London and/or NYC leading projects in:
• Market Development
• Aggregations/external partners
• Content analysis and research
• Overall strategy presentations and special commercial projects
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Support the creation of a market development strategy for Discovery Golf through
• Ranking & prioritizing market opportunities,
• Developing detailed market based strategies based on potential content and editorial opportunities
• Use research and data to understand consumer demand and preferences by market
• Coordinating cross-function teams to ensure implementation of agreed strategy.
• Identify aggregation opportunities to partner with, invest in or acquire other golf related content businesses
• Lead external discussions with prospective partners
• Support creation of strategies and business plans for aggregating with other OTT platforms.
• Support strategy & planning for new initiatives with a key focus on building external partnerships, content partners and key distribution partners as well as evaluating a “build in ourselves” model
• Source market data and conducting independent research to contribution to identifying business development opportunities.
• Contribute creative and strategic thinking on projects and to challenge existing perceptions
• Support in framing and structuring new projects, helping the team articulate the right questions and challenges
• Communicate research findings and recommendations via power-point presentations and/or memos (i.e. structure storyline, present findings to the team and wider audiences as required)
Requirements
• Previous working experience in corporate strategy, strategy consulting, digital content player or related field
• Passionate about working in digital and the media industry, with full-time experience at a leading strategy consulting firm or media company
• Strong written and oral communications skills and fluent English
• Ability to focus on the detail as well as high-level concepts
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Strong analytical skills to drive strategic insight (and ability to develop scenario driven models and conduct financial analysis)
• Proven capability in sourcing data and conducting research, using creativity to consider analytical problems for a range of angles
• Must be able to multi-task and adaptable to change / uncertainty, proactively managing a variety of projects and timelines with minimal supervision.
• Strong inter-personal skills – must be a team player, confident to liaise with senior management and able to build and manage relationships with a wide range of people across a diverse global matrix organisation
