Discovery, Inc., the new global leader in real life entertainment with powerful brands such as Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, HGTV, Food Network, and Travel Channel, is searching for a Director of Programming to join our team.
The Role
The Programming Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Animal Planet Programming department. The Programming Coordinator will also work with Programming team to coordinate the overall process for the network, and function to meet business initiatives.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the input of the schedule as well as any updates to the schedule in scheduling systems and update key programming information in all systems.
2. Act as liaison between programming department and various internal departments (Media Logistics, Commercial Ops, Ad Sales, Media Planning, Production Development, Listings Services, Digital Media, Communications, Marketing and IT among others) informing of schedule changes and answering scheduling questions.
3. Update key programming information in all systems. Ensure HIVE and PDS information is complete and accurate. Manage and update all programming scheduling documents.
4. Update title and description information and manage gathering of key listings information.
5. Review and approve APL listings on monthly and weekly basis. Ensure listings is correct across all listing providers
6. Informing of schedule changes and answering scheduling questions
7. Track and update competitive documents providing key competitor schedules and calendar events.
8. Track delivery schedules and update delivery documents anytime there is new information.
9. Perform Special Projects and other duties as assigned as assigned
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree
* Two years’ experience in entertainment, fictional television, or non-fiction documentary television.
* High-level verbal and written communication, interpersonal, analytical, organization, time management and prioritization skills.
* Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel.
* Knowledge of PDS, Gabriel and Gemini preferred,
* Initiative and desire to learn new database technologies.
* Detail orientation/organizational skills, ability to work well with many and diverse personalities, while having the ability to thrive under pressure
* Ability to work well with numbers
* Strong communication skills.
* Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.
