Discovery Inc, the global leader in real-life entertainment, is looking for a Program Planning Coordinator to support Food Network and the Cooking Channel. This role will carry out discrete parts of assigned scheduling activities and implement ongoing scheduling processes.
Responsibilities
1. Typical responsibilities include gathering, entering and disseminating scheduling materials.
2. Heavy Data Entry - Update and maintain various programming databases (Broadview, Metadata Dashboard).
3. Assist the Program Planning team in maintaining programming schedules and timeliness of program delivery.
4. Actively participate in the strategic planning of the Cooking Channel/Food Network schedules.
5. Create, draft, and release Program Changes and Monthly Releases.
6. Create monthly episodic calendars for assigned shows.
7. Act as Programming liaison for Cooking Channel/Food Network and Internal Departments – answering programming and scheduling questions as needed.
8. Act as Programming liaison for Food Network/Cooking Channel listings (both on network websites, as well as via listings agencies- clear, concise communication skills)
9. Point person for tracking all Ad Sales Marketing sponsorship requests for Cooking Channel/Food Network.
10. Track late deliveries and revisions of deliverables.
11. Monitor ratings for audience trends. Must have awareness of competitive landscape for strategic scheduling and counter programming stunts.
12. Assist Manager of Program Planning on reviewing and delivery of Cooking Channel/Food Network Inventory cut downs/edits – work closely with the Post Production team on scheduling edit time, and ensuring timely delivery of masters
13. Perform other duties as needed and as directed by the Program Planning team.
Requirements
* College degree preferred.
* 2 years of experience in area of responsibility
* Analysis and troubleshooting skills as they relate to scheduling.
* Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Knowledge of video/media production and/or processing.
* Strong communication skills.
* PC background; experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and Windows.
* Experience with entertainment scheduling systems a plus.
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
