Full Time Job
The Photo Manager reports to the Director of Photography and is responsible for project management and photo asset management in addition to photo production for the Food Network and Cooking Channel within the Brand Creative department. This role requires overseeing photo coordinators, all photo assets, archives and servers, and day-to-day workflow.
Responsibilities
1. Work with Director of Photography to execute the direction of the VP, Creative and Design director
2. Step up to fill in for Director of Photography’s role in his/her absence
3. Responsible for coordinating and producing still photo and video shoots with focus on talent, entertainment and food
4. Manage database of all current and completed projects, due dates and budgets
5. Oversee photo coordinators on a daily-basis to assign projects and manage project workflows
6. Oversee freelance photo coordinators for photo editing and deliverables when required
7. Manage photo related digital accounts
8. Define and update specs for all photo asset projects
9. Responsible for incoming research requests and related deliverables
10. Manage Brands assets within the companies DAM system
11. Oversee the management of photo and video assets on all archive systems
12. Stay abreast of all technologies used in photography with an eye toward future expansion
Requirements
* BFA in Photography or related field
* 5 years of experience in Photo production / managing/Editing/DAM field, preferably within a TV network or Entertainment Industry
* Management experience preferred
* Excellent grasp of great visual communication and the ability to stretch creatively with each new project, while keeping in mind company objectives and strategic goals
* Must have problem solving skills for evaluating situations and to make improvements and/or adjustments
* Passion for great photography and design
* Highly organized and detail-oriented
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently, as well in a team situation and with clients, working under pressure, and juggling multiple and complex projects
* Extensive knowledge of all current graphic software including Adobe CC Suite
* Extensive knowledge of photography production and equipment
* Extensive knowledge in file specs and sizes in both Digital and Non-Digital assets (Negatives, Slides and Transparencies)
* Strong knowledge of photo production, retouching and digital workflow
* Thrive in a fast-paced environment
* Understanding of Federal copyright laws, usage licenses and embargo
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
