Marketing Strategy Manager - Dni
The International Editorial Strategy team, based in New York, is the creative content information and strategic planning lifeline between Discovery Inc.’s US networks and the international marketing and creative teams managing a variety of services reaching 200 countries in 50 languages around the world.
The International Editorial Strategy team is recruiting for a Manager, Marketing Strategy, to help build and sustain leading global brands including Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Investigation Discovery, among others.
The Manager, Marketing Strategy will be responsible for supporting the director in developing strategic and collaborative partnerships with Discovery’s US brand teams to build global linear and nonlinear brand and content properties around the world. The Manager will work in partnership with the US and international marketing and creative teams to develop and implement marketing strategy for global priorities - creating greater efficiencies and global brand consistency.
The ideal candidate will be able to think strategically, have high attention to detail and excellent communications skills.
Responsibilities
1. Work alongside the Director of Marketing & Digital Strategy to determine and develop on-going marketing priorities.
2. Support director in the development and execution of global strategy in partnership with US brand and regional teams.
3. Build and maintain partnerships with the US marketing, creative and digital teams to increase sharing of US campaign/media strategies, assets, promotional priorities, insights and best practices with regional teams to support franchise titles.
4. Communicate US marketing campaign/media strategies, promotional priorities, insights and best practices with regional marketing teams.
5. Own and optimize the process for regular communication of US brand and marketing strategy to the regional marketing teams.
6. Manage regular forum for US brand and regional teams to share strategy, best practices and creative.
7. Assist in developing departmental reports and presentations.
8. Effectively liaise with cross-functional teams (creative, media, digital, publicity, programming, sales/brand partnerships) to ensure marketing initiatives and campaigns are initiated and completed in a timely and process-oriented manner.
9. Coordinate with global asset management team to ensure availability of all marketing campaign and digital assets for use by regional teams.
10. Providing day-to-day administrative support; serve as primary contact for regional marketing teams for US brand and program research, logo updates, creative share requests, etc.
11. Provide logistical support meeting set-ups including: multi-region video conferences; on and off-site meetings. Driving presentations; taking/distributing notes.
12. Assist with ad hoc marketing & digital projects as needed.
Requirements
* 5 years of demonstrated experience supporting a marketing team. Media and international experience a plus.
* Possess a strong commitment and interest in working in a fast-paced globally focused team-oriented environment.
* Be an enthusiastic go-getter who will take initiative and problem solve.
* Be articulate, personable, detail oriented and have strong organizational skills and communication skills.
* Must have strong project management skills.
* Detail and follow-up skills essential.
* Demonstrate resourcefulness and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
* Have experience with or feel comfortable learning independently and urgently - multi-time zone meeting planning, video conferencing, room booking, mid-meeting AV trouble shooting and effective meeting note taking.
* Database and systems aptitude a must: Outlook, PowerPoint, Keyword required. WorkPlace DCI internal systems, a plus.
