Full Time Job
Manage all staff and daily operations of assigned network(s) within the TV Commercial Operations department with accountability for producing quality product with minimal discrepancies and maximum revenue retention. Demonstrate extensive knowledge and proven abilities in all areas of traffic functionalities. Utilize proven skill set and competencies required to interpret and apply policies and procedures in the most effective manner to meet all brand requirements.
Responsibilities
1. Perform HR functions for non-exempt staff including interviews, hiring, PTO approval, reviews, training, development and disciplinary actions
2. Define and develop efficient work processes and procedures in a manner that ensures maximum revenue retention and high-quality output; explain and enforce established policies with emphasis on consistency and adherence to processes
3. Monitor employee performance and output; provide back-up for all desks including log editing, copy management, program scheduling, commercial clearance, production; provide leadership and serve as resource for staff
4. Serve as primary liaison with Inventory Control and Pricing and Planning to monitor daily potential and inventory shifts in a manner that maximizes revenue potential and provides accountability for revenue retention. Responsible for ensuring month end projections are accurate and remain consistent for sales forecasting and revenue reporting.
5. Develop collaborative relationships with outer departments in a manner that provides direct resources and accountability for Brand initiatives and implementation of all programming and sales strategies.
6. Research and resolve order entry or log scheduling issues including oversell and separation situations, conflicts, competitive issues, exclusivities, sponsorships, preempts
7. Monitor off-air and on-air discrepancies. Research all credit adjustment requests attributed to department as errors and provide detailed explanation and accountability to upper management
8. Approve all copy changes to exported logs as requested and ensure that changes are processed through the appropriate channels
Requirements
* Minimum 4-year experience with in depth knowledge and proven experience in Cable Commercial Operations/Traffic functionalities including log editing, copy, formats and scheduling, ad sales procedures and inventory management
* Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource management, leadership and resource management
* Strong judgment and decision-making skills with ability to develop and lead a team
* Must exhibit creative problem-solving skills and ability to work synergistically with other departments
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
* Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a deadline driven environment
* Strong organization skills
* Ability to work within time constraints and exhibit flexibility in work hours based on business needs and seasonal demands
* Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to compile, code, categorize, audit or verify information or data
* Ability to enter, store or maintain information in written or electronic form
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
