Overview
Manager - Research & Insights
Responsibilities
• This role will act as support for the VP of Research & Insights and will require supporting on ad-hoc requests and larger insights projects
• Provide detailed reporting on the performance of Discovery’s Latin American and US Hispanic linear portfolio as well as our direct-to-consumer services
• Jointly share responsibility for the regular reporting with other team members – ensuring reports are accurate and delivered promptly each day/week
• Build strong internal client relationships with appropriate teams and communicate key insights through ad-hoc requests and regular meetings
• Respond to ad-hoc research requests with best-in-class insights and recommendations that help inform the business
• Help measure audience consumption across platforms to develop a holistic picture of viewing across our products and brands
• Use third party research providers & tools to provide a comprehensive view of the market and our users.
• Fully exploit available audience data and combine with other research insights to reveal more about our viewers and their content choices and behaviors
• Provide the content & digital teams with clear, actionable information to help optimise and grow our linear portfolio and direct-to-consumer services
• Support distribution teams and help develop compelling sales presentations for our brands making use of all available research tools
Qualifications
• At least 5 years’ experience working within the digital/media industry (either within a broadcaster or a company with a strong digital presence).
• Enjoy digital research, understand the wider D2C market & how it fits into the broader media ecosystem.
• Experience with industry analysis tools such as Instar, Advantedge/TechEdge, Adobe or Google Analytics and TGI Choices
• Strong grasp of media metrics across TV and digital platforms
• A solid understanding of the Latin American TV market and challenges it faces
• Strong analytic and critical thinking skills; ability to translate data and research findings into easily digestible, actionable insights
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects and set priorities to ensure deadlines are met or exceeded within tight timeline
• Ability to work with diverse, cross-functional, global teams.
• Good knowledge of computer Microsoft & Google software packages, (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Sheets, PowerPoint).
