The Position
We are seeking an exceptional and driven Graphic Designer with a background in digital design to support our marketing, sales and customer support teams with high-impact, best-in-class work that supports our strategic business objectives. Reporting to the Creative Director, the Graphic Designer will work collaboratively with the creative and marketing teams to ideate and execute on creative strategies that generate brand awareness, demonstrate core values, differentiate us from our competitors, lead users to trial, stimulate product usage, and support upsell and renewal efforts. Owning the design process from concept to completion, the Graphic Designer will play an integral role in raising the creative bar, using a strategic blend of traditional and digital design tactics to create cutting-edge, multi-channel experiences that engage and inspire.
Responsibilities
1. Support Discovery Education marketing and sales with exceptional digital and traditional graphic design work
2. Combine art and technology to communicate ideas through images
3. Support acquisition and usage campaigns with best-in-class digital experiences, including landing pages, emails, digital walkthroughs, eBooks, product visualizations, and other digital content
4. Work collaboratively with the creative team to ideate and present bold new ideas that will help us disrupt the K-12 marketing space
5. Partner with sales and marketing to create outstanding presentation decks
6. Bring new ideas and modern solutions to the table that accurately convey the Discovery Education brand promise and value through design
7. Build user-friendly lead capture form templates using 3rd party platforms
8. Work with the Creative Director to build and maintain a new brand book and style guide for marketing purposes
9. Develop an understanding of our customer journey and target audience personas, including their needs and expectations, and hot topics in K-12 education, and support digital tactics such as marketing automation with outstanding design ideas
10. Collaborate with sales and marketing to audit and modify existing marketing resources to maintain alignment with brand messaging strategies at all stages of the customer journey
11. Concept and produce disruptive brand visuals for our suite of digital products and services, events and demand-generation initiatives, including logos, title treatments, and key imagery
12. Collaborate with events marketing team on events graphics, maintaining brand look and feel and visual consistency
13. Assist with creative governance, template design and training to ensure field, events, and sales teams are staying on brand at all times
14. Create layouts for printed materials including (but not limited to) flyers, brochures, and thought leadership content
15. Curate and manage our library of stock photography, and engage in the occasional photo shoot either operating the camera or managing shot lists
16. Maintain a list of ongoing projects and tasks simultaneously
17. Oversee a small team of remote independent contractors, including the prioritization and delegation of work, contract upkeep, and budget/deadlines
Requirements
* Exceptional portfolio reflecting experience in digital design, preferably at an agency or in a marketing/advertising function
* Strong design sensibility – mastery of design software applications in Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); animation and motion graphics preferred
* HTML/CSS experience with working knowledge of Wordpress CMS
* Well versed in user interface design, including site architecture and usability / user experience best practices
* Proficiency in PowerPoint and Keynote
* Confident creating mock-ups and comps for presentations; experience using Sketch or Invision applications
* Experience with SalesForce Marketing Cloud, Marketo or similar marketing automation platform
* Demonstrated experience with front-end web development including HTML/CSS
* Strong desire to stay on the cutting edge of design techniques while also managing a portfolio of foundational marketing materials
* Must be a team player, detail oriented with excellent organization skills
* Ability to juggle multiple projects, working under tight timelines and hit deadlines
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
