The Editorial Manager, Print works as part of the Curriculum and Content Team to support development of Discovery Education’s Techbook digital services and print products. The individual is responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of content, as well as managing the products and processes for Discovery Education's print production.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the prototyping, creation, delivery, production, and finalization of print components and products for state-specific educator and student audiences
2. Manage the conversion of content from digital to print
3. Assign work to and manage project-based contract workers and independent contractors as directed by the Director of Editorial
4. Oversee daily and weekly project workflows and meet critical adoption and Partnership deadlines as directed by the Director of Editorial
5. Create, further develop, and maintain the accuracy of planning documents, processes, schedules, metadata, and rights clearance
6. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and clarity in the application of Discovery Education’s editorial style across all content
7. Research, review, and recommend content and features for Discovery Education’s products
8. Collaborate with cross-functional team members
9. Support other Curriculum and Content Development projects as needed
Requirements
* 5 years of experience in educational multimedia/print content development with a respected company serving schools, libraries, and/or universities
* Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Education, English, Communications)
* Strong proficiency in use of multiple types of software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop)
* Strong proficiency in writing, grammar, and spelling and in-depth knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style
* Strong level of comfort with content management and file organization systems
* Excellent organizational skills and exceptional ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members in geographically dispersed offices
* In-depth knowledge of the K-12 educational marketplace, including available content, product types, and trends
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
