Our Team
The Social Good team is responsible for all Corporate Social Responsibility, Philanthropy, Employee Impact and Consumer Cause Marketing Strategy Engagement, and Execution across Discovery Inc.’s platforms and brands.
The Role
The Director, Social Good will work alongside department head to implement campaign strategy development and execution and support of network cause marketing initiatives, and engagement across Discovery Inc.’s brands. Core to the role will be development of sustainable public/private partnerships, presentation of campaign strategy, and creative project management for external campaigns. This role will also be responsible for research, impact metric tracking and reporting and building extensions of global, cross-brand initiatives.
This position reports to the Vice President, Standards & Social Good. New York is preferred location for the role.
Responsibilities
1. Cause ideation, strategy and implementation
2. Cultivation and continuity of public/partnerships
3. Project Management including: oversight of program execution, budget tracking, tactical execution, scheduling and management of creative assets, brand messaging, calendarization of programs, legal approvals and contracts, social media content, approvals process across partnerships, internal messaging, extensions and events
4. Direction of strategic research, development and management of affinity partnerships
5. Direction of research and analysis on policy risks and opportunities
6. Creation of dynamic presentations, through PowerPoint and InDesign
7. Oversight of Impact Metric reporting and communication
8. Lead relationships with external and internal creative agencies
9. Ability to speak publicly and represent the Social Good team at events or Senior Client or Internal meetings
10. Work in tandem with the Employee Impact team to maximize internal and external programs
11. Management of team members
Requirements
* BA, BS or higher
* Minimum eight-ten years related experience in Media and CSR/Non-Profit required
* Prior management experience
* Strong knowledge of Impact landscape globally
* Strong prioritizing abilities as well as strong research skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work closely with a wide range of staff at all levels
* Strong presentation skills including writing and presentation design capabilities
* Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and InDesign
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
