Primary responsibilities include day-to-day operational oversight of all media operations functions and processes supporting physical and file-base media creation, conversion, distribution and archival management.
Responsibilities
1. Interface with functional business units, network clients, media logistics/broadcast/production operations directors & managers
2. Provide direction in planning, developing and implementing systems that support digital content services
3. Facilitate operational testing and configuration of new technologies and software platforms prior to implementation (end-user perspective)
4. Develop, coordinate, and implement departmental training
5. Ensure long-term technology solutions and procedures address operational needs from a functional perspective, in conjunction with new business initiatives, in relation to the technical infrastructure and design of production center north.
6. Assist in management of DCS budget and perform monthly reconciliations, ensuring expenses are properly coded and accurate
7. Assist in establishing operational objectives and expectations of DCS staff
8. Establish departmental metrics reporting and maintain quality and throughput standards to ensure operational performance goals (volume and quality)
9. Ability to increase quality and productivity through the creation of systems and procedures
10. Assist in the development of staff
11. Facilitate client requests for new initiatives
12. Manage operational upgrade specifications and functionality requirements for new technologies and systems
13. Act as a liaison between DCS, Broadcast Operations, Engineering, Digital Media, Media Logistics, and other internal partners operations broadcast BOC to ensure accuracy and timeliness of required outputs from DCS
14. Communicate status updates, issues, and resolutions regarding systems, process and technology within production center to GT&O management
Requirements
* Minimum of 8-10 years experience in Media Operations, minimum of 5-6 years in a management capacity.
* College degree or equivalent preferred
* Familiarity in production, post-production and broadcast processes
* Technical/Functional Expertise in Encoding, DVD Authoring, Ingest, Technical Evaluation & Archive
* Production Automation and ancillary workflow system knowledge
* Inventory Management, Control and Compliance
* Process Management
* Project Management Skills
* In-depth Operational knowledge of existing DLC Domestic/International Networks
* Written and Verbal Communication Skills
* Strong management and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to manage change and build cohesive teams
* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines required
* Proven leadership skills
* Ability to train and work with users of all levels
* Ability to work individually or in a group
* Ability to develop and present job related technical documentation
