The Role
The Director of Data & Analytics will sit in the Discovery Golf Product team and will support the business with defining and managing the Data & Analytics strategy for Discovery Golf.
Reporting to the Head of Product, this individual will be responsible for product strategy and development related to data collection, aggregation, normalization, derived data products and all related operations around data products. Through these solutions, Discovery Golf will be able to more effectively personalize content, target advertising, direct marketing to consumers across all channels and countries, enhance the user experience, localize and optimize in different markets, answer important business KPIs. In addition, this role will be responsible for various products that leverage data analytics and modeling to perform predictive analytics to further improve acquisition, retention, and reduce the risk of churn. He/she will analyze vast amounts of user, market and industry data, identifying patterns and making suggestions to drive business performance.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with Product, Growth, Finance, Content, Marketing, Business Development, and Sales teams to understand business goals and drive the Data & Analytics strategy for the Discovery Golf product.
2. Define and enforce consistent tracking taxonomies to capture consumer behavior across all platforms including websites, mobile apps, tv-connected apps, emails and other digital mediums.
3. Manage the requirements, definition and build-out of a robust DMP, while evaluating existing platforms and solutions.
4. Identify, scope and manage projects that contribute to the traffic, viewership, user engagement, marketing and sales efforts.
5. Understand and gather business requirements from various stakeholders and departments for analytics data gathering, while also providing guidance on best practices for data collection and reporting.
6. Convert the business requirements into detailed analytics requirements for engineering teams and manage the projects from inception to completion.
7. Develop effective data and analytics strategies to enable self-serve reporting and analysis throughout the organization via dashboards and automated reports.
8. Successfully engage in acceptance testing and troubleshooting for analytics.
9. Manage implementations of 3rd party pixels, custom events, and SDK integration requests as needed.
10. Collaborate with Product to create unique user experiences leveraging existing Golf data and content metadata from various sources.
Requirements
* You have a Bachelor’s degree in some Economics, Computer Science, or Finance related field.
* You have 4 to 6 years of professional experience in the Digital Media industry.
* You have 2 to 3 years of experience specifically with Data & Analytics for OTT, Direct-to-Consumer businesses.
* You have a background and significant experience with quantitative discipline, preferably statistics or mathematics, along with predictive modeling and analytics.
* You have hands-on experience with Data & Analytics tools and solutions such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, Tableau, or other similar platforms.
* You have used big data technologies (i.e. Spark/MapReduce/Hadoop/Pig, etc…) at one point in your career and built large scale data pipelines.
* You’re proficient in Python, R, SQL, and other statistical, visualization, and data tools and languages.
* You have experience with digital advertising and subscription businesses, leveraging massive data to provide analytics and modeling (such as acquisition, retention, user experience analytics, and churn analysis).
