About GOLFTV
GOLFTV is a new international destination for golf fans created by Discovery, a worldwide leader in real-life entertainment and international sports, in partnership with the PGA TOUR. The platform includes a dedicated video streaming service, ensuring fans can watch many of golf’s most exciting tournaments, players and moments, anytime, anywhere on every screen and device.
The Role
The Director of Acquisition Marketing will be focused on acquiring new customers/users to GOLFTV’s digital platforms and helping maximize the number of active subscriptions. He/she will be responsible for developing and executing strategies and tactics for GOLFTV’s marketing initiatives inclusive of digital marketing, paid media, and owned/on-site opportunities.
Responsibilities
1. Lead the strategic planning and execution of integrated communications plans designed to maximize the growth of GOLFTV through new user acquisition.
2. Collaborate with Discovery’s in-house Media Strategy Analytics team to plan media strategies and budget allocation to achieve target KPIs for efficient acquisition.
3. Oversee the day-to-day relationship with creative agencies to develop best-in-class, performance-focused creative campaigns.
4. Serve as the “voice of the consumer” in all areas of consumer partner messaging to ensure that GOLFTV is seen as authentic, relevant and aspirational.
5. Adopt a “Test, Learn, Optimize” approach to creative, media and site/app tactics in order to build a finely-tuned and efficient marketing funnel.
6. Work closely with the Director of Data & Analytics to track key business metrics and optimize acquisition efforts according to relevant insights and trends.
7. Develop and maintain an organized Marketing activation calendar in order to keep all stakeholders informed and prepared for upcoming initiatives.
Requirements
* Deep experience working in direct-to-consumer (B2C) media companies. Familiarity with both subscription- and advertising-based business models would be ideal.
* Deep experience collaborating with Creative and Media teams to develop highly effective marketing campaigns and communications platforms. Experience with both Brand and Performance campaigns is a plus.
* Comprehensive understanding of key marketing campaign metrics and the ability to harness those metrics to inform insight-driven marketing and/or business decisions.
* Extensive experience with the strategic planning, creative development and asset delivery processes, and the ability to manage a high volume and variety of deliverables.
* Proficiency with using customer segmentation and data to inform testing and targeting opportunities.
* Organizational and communication skills are a priority. Candidate should be able to confidently express their ideas and point-of-view in written, team, and presentation settings.
* Proven leadership skills and a passion for developing more junior talent.
* Sports industry experience and a passion for golf.
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
