Responsibilities
• Deliver clean and performant code to support Discovery Education’s database applications
• Create and tune SQL queries and ETL packages
• Contribute to Business Intelligence and Reporting systems on an ongoing basis
• Continually contribute to development documentation and standards
• Participate in team code reviews to ensure code quality standards
• Participate in dependency management and build system maintenance
• Collaborate with stakeholders on performance and architecture of web applications
Requirements
Mission-Driven: Passionate about Discovery Education's vision to transform teaching and learning, experience in education or ed-tech industry a plus
Professional Experience: Minimum 2 - 5 years in database engineering, ETL and database operations, and business intelligence.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, database systems, or related field. Comparable work and technical experience may be considered.
Collaborative: Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Team builder, not turf builder
Self-Motivation and Self-Starter: The ability to do what needs to be done without being micromanaged; ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks, proactively manage numerous projects, and prioritize competing timelines; demonstrate a problem solving/ solution-oriented approach.

Technical Qualifications:
• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
• Expertise with SSIS
• Experience with Reporting Platforms such as Tableau, PowerBI, or SSRS
• Knowledge of database deployment and SLDC
• Version control experience (Git)
• Love of learning and ability to rapidly adapt to changing technologies
• Experience with Automation and Continuous Integration to support large development teams
Additional Qualifications:
• Experience with MongoDB, Python, and/or C#
• Agile/Scrum experience
• Excellent interpersonal and inter-team communication skills
