As an Associate on our DTC Content & Commercial Strategy team, you will be joining a team responsible for developing and implementing strategy across Discovery's global DTC portfolio, with a specific focus on content and partnerships. The right person for this role is the kind of person who obsesses over details, thrives in ambiguity, and jumps at the opportunity to take on new challenges. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the discovery team, the highest priority new business initiative at Discovery.
Responsibilities
• Develop frameworks and analyses for assessing key strategic questions facing the business, including such areas as:
• Identifying how much and what type of content to invest in
• Maximizing the performance of content on discovery
• Building the right partnerships to help grow the business
• Help ensure these strategies are executed once proper buy-in and support has been secured
• Collaborate with other departments, especially Data & Analytics, Finance, Research, and Business Intelligence teams to build out the tools, systems, and processes necessary to drive strategy and analysis
• Support the Content and Partnerships teams in understanding current performance on the platform, identifying new content categories to pursue, or evaluating opportunities to expand partnerships in new ways
• Develop and implement competitive benchmarking systems and processes to support the broader DTC team's understanding of the landscape
• Create materials for Discovery Board meetings and other leadership meetings
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree
• 2 to 4 years of work experience, including 2-3 years in Consulting, Investment Banking, and/or Corporate Strategy
• Excellent analytical skills and financial modeling capabilities, with a deep attention to detail
• Superior ability to synthesize the output from analyses, identify the ''so-what,'' develop early hypotheses, and propose the next line of inquiry
• Experience in building executive-level presentations
• Ability to work and drive analyses independently
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Team player
• Familiarity with the Google Suite of collaboration software
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
