Overview
To work as an integral part of Eurosport’s UK Broadcast team, the Scheduling Assistant will accurately plan the commercial & promotional content for the Eurosport schedules. This position is based in Chiswick London, working according to a rota from Monday to Sunday, and on a shift basis, to meet the needs of the business and the demands of the sporting calendar.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Broadcast, the main duties would include:
• Viewing all promotional & interstitial material prior to transmission to ensure familiarity with elements and check accuracy for air.
• To manage the accurate & effective input of both the programme & the daily presentation schedule into WhatsOn
• Liaising closely with LondonTransmission to ensure full and accurate transmission of the daily British playlist.
• Liaising with the Paris commercial department to ensure all pan-European commercial and sponsorship elements are played on the daily British Eurosport playlist.
• Liaising with Producers on break patterns for specific British Eurosport programmes and studios.
• Execution of suitable contingency plans for any potential changes with live programming.
• Planning and producing all editorial for on air transmission graphics.
• Following the promotions strategy as discussed with the Head of Broadcast & Scheduling Manager.
• Any other ad-hoc duties the company may reasonably require from time to time.
Qualifications
A quick learner with intermediate computer literacy and strong attention to detail, you enjoy planning and problem solving. You possess good organisational and communications skills, and are able to work calmly under pressure. No experience in scheduling required but a demonstrable passion for sport an advantage. Would suit a new graduate keen to start a first role in sports broadcasting.
