Discovery, Inc., the new global leader in real life entertainment with powerful brands such as Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, HGTV, Food Network, and Travel Channel, is searching for a senior level administrative assistant in New York, NY to support two of our digital senior leaders and the department. In this role you’ll be responsible for coordinating schedules, arranging meetings, booking travel and more.
Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing
• Supporting two Senior Vice Presidents and senior team with calendaring, scheduling, and travel to keep the team moving
• Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters and other documents, using Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
• Read and review incoming memos, submissions, and reports in order to determine their significance and plan their distribution
• Open, sort, and distribute incoming emails and correspondence
• Assisting development of presentations for creative pitches, both internal and external with clients, agencies, and partners
• Coordinating internal and cross-team communication with weekly and monthly status updates
• Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries
• Perform general office duties such as ordering supplies and other duties as assigned
• Answer phones for multiple people
Requirements
What You Need To Have
• Associate's degree and 2 years of experience serving in an administrative assistant capacity
• 1-2 years of experience at media company, production company, or digital agency preferred
• Strong administrative, communication, organizational skills and outstanding attention to detail
• Must be effective in scheduling, budget development, and tracking
• Able to self-direct and adapt in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple tasks
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Understands common television and digital formats, terminologies, and practices preferred
• Must have exceptional computer skills, including Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work collaboratively with team members
