POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Foreign Levies Assistant will be assisting the Foreign Levies department with collecting and distributing foreign levies to DGA members and non-members.
Through the collective voice of more than 18,000 members, the Directors Guild of America (DGA) labor union helps empower directorial teams to protect and enhance their legal and artistic rights, contend for their creative freedom, and strengthen their ability to develop meaningful, successful careers.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Data Entry - Use databases and online public resources to correctly identify motion picture projects and directors. Process the data once correctly identified for payment to the director of the motion picture that has earned a payment.
• Research, Locate & Register Independent Filmmakers - Use databases and online public resources to locate, contact, solicit claim documents, process claim documents and register independent filmmakers who have attained the minimum for payment.
• Disburse Payments - Produce and prepare a bulk mailing of cover letters, statements, and checks to be sent to the payable directors.
• Serve the Membership / Independent Filmmakers as Needed - Correspond with directors by email or phone to answer their questions and handle their issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• PC Proficient and proficient in MS Word and Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks within a deadline-drive environment
• Must be a team player
• Internet Savvy
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred
• Experience working in Research
• Experience working with databases
